Samuel Knushi, Sympatickej Sam

A little about me.

I’m Sam. I study media ethics at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czechia. I also help lead a local Scout group and run Pecka, a training course for young Scout patrol leaders. I enjoy creating things, making things happen and being part of a team.

Much of what I do happens online, but I’m increasingly drawn to hands-on work and time away from screens. My interests and projects change over time. What stays the same is wanting to do work I can stand behind.

Selected projects

RK Pecka & IS Pecka.

RK Pecka

Pecka helps young Scouts learn to lead their patrols. I lead the course and develop it together with the team. Of all my projects, this one means the most to me. It brings together my love of creating, organising and working with people.

IS Pecka

With the help of AI, I built a custom web application to organise the course. The team uses it to manage participants and plan the programme.

Final-year photography project

Caught in the Feed.

A self-portrait exploring my relationship with social media and its impact on everyday life.

Using projection, I bring the digital world into physical space: online content is projected directly onto my bedroom and my body.

The series draws on personal experience. As someone who wants to work with social media, I also find myself caught in it. Constant checking, comparison and pressure to perform gradually affect my mental wellbeing, sleep and sense of self.

The photographs capture moments between the online and offline worlds: stillness, exhaustion and overload, alongside the need to stay connected.

Ongoing collaboration

MAS Bystřička.

I create social media content, manage Google Workspace and help organise events for MAS Bystřička, a local community development organisation. I’m also working on its new website.

What we could work on.

I can help with social media content, a simple website or graphics that follow your existing visual identity. I especially enjoy projects that bring these things together.

I’m also happy to share what I know through a workshop or lend a hand with organising an event.
